Baqtaq Travel is not just a travel agency — it is a community of guides who speak English, Malay and Arabic. We put together memorable tours across Almaty and the Almaty region — a land where alpine lakes of the Tian Shan, Charyn Canyon, singing dunes and mountain meadows all lie within a day of the city.
These lands are rich in the history of the early Turkic peoples, and the sheer range of natural scenery surprises even seasoned travellers — as does the hearty, one-of-a-kind local cooking. We will show you the most beautiful places, and the customs and culture of the people who live here.

Zhiger Stambaqy
Founder of Baqtaq Travel. He spent more than seven years living in Malaysia, which makes travelling with us especially easy for guests from South-East Asia. He speaks Malay, English, Arabic, Russian and Kazakh.

How we work
You leave a request: the dates, the number of travellers and what you would like to see. We reply with an itinerary and an exact price — the figure is fixed upfront and does not change on the road.
From there one person looks after you — the same one you were writing to. They stay reachable before, during and after the trip, at any hour. The driver is matched to the route and the language, and is always someone we work with regularly.
